Default AEV Pre Filter (New Design)

Hi all,
Now this may be a daft question so bear with me.
Thinking of getting a AEV snorkel with the new pre-filter on it.
Now I live in Dubai....hot and dusty as you can imagine. Now do I still have to use a filter in the airbox or can I get away with just the pre-filter ? I know that the title says it all (PRE filter etc etc) however will this have a impact on HP/torque by going through two filter assemblies ? If so what would be a better solution ?

Cheers
