Default AEV prefilter....

I just got the AEV Snorkel.....does the prefilter have somekind of filter paper or cloth that goes inside the top? Mine does not have anything with it.

Nope - it works by centrifugal force. Sand etc. will accumulate on the outside, so you should check it once in a while if you travel on dirt roads a lot.

I'm truly looking forward to cutting a hole in the hood of my Jeep...

Out of the box the thing is solid, which was a concern over RR's aluminum one. I am not the least bit worried anymore of that part. I will let you know how it goes......Thursday if you hear a loud scream, that means I cut it wrong....

I know how you feel, the 22 - 5/8" holes I drilled for my RR sliders were really painful!! I am starting to lean towards the AEV, I just wanna see one before I take the plunge. Good luck!
