Just heard back from AEV and was told I had to buy a new one. Any recommendations for a different product that does the same

Yea, there are different products with similar/better results, but they are more $$$. The ProCal is the cheapest out of any of the tuners & programmers on the market.

The answer I got after speaking with AEV is this can be done for $150. Actually they claimed it cannot be done as they don't have the tools to remove the original VIN. On top of that if you are moving to a 2012 the older procal module cannot adjust gear ratio so if you regear you get what people refer to as "limp mode."

So...I am out another $150.
