Default AEV Procal question

I got the Procal to adjust for my tire size. My new 275/70/17 duratracs arent that much taller than the stock Rubi wheels, but I wanted to be accurate nonetheless. My question is when I plugged the unit into my Jeep, the horn beeped almost immediately. I figured it would take more than a half a second to reprogram???? Is this normal????

Yes it happens very quickly. You should hear two quick beeps of the horn if successful.

just make sure to measure your tires vs going off what the manufact web states. once you mount them on the truck with the vehicles weight, they will measure smaller in size. I just went through this with my "35's". they are 33 3/4" mounted on the truck. checked it against gps and was only off 2mph at 65mph. The first time I set the ProCal to the 34.50" and was off a bit more.

What does the throttle response really do for you? I just ordered my Procal and I am experiencing low mpg and some real slowdown with my new 33's (Trail Grapplers, Load Range E very heavy). Many forum posts seem to indicate I'll get alot back once the shift points are corrected, any comments?

Resetting your tire size will help more than you would think. I hated life for a while after mounting my 295/70r17 trails. The JK would shift constantly and the interstate was unbearable. ProCal helped me like my JK again. These tires arent much taller than my stock saharas tires were, but were different enough to notice. For the price, it is totally worth it. Now if i just were smart enough to understand the instructions for resetting my TPMS threshold... Think my dealer set it higher than stock so now my TPMS light comes on when they drop below 35 psi.....I havent done the gas pedal sync thing with the Procal.....yet.....

As far as the TPMS Setting on the Procal Tool, Just set it to "0", which dis ables the TPMS 100%, by leaving the system in a dealer test mode , which the Procal Tool will automatically set it for. I love having reg valve air stems on my Jeep, and no bs light on the dash. Just check the small book the Procal came with, and look for the zero setting.

If you still want the system "TPMS" functional, the same chart will tell you what dip switches to set on the tool to get the PSI setting you are looking for.

As what the other members have already mentioned, the tool works very fast, very cool tool to bring the Jeep back to old times , before stupid lights and other settings controlled our Jeeps. Well worth every penny.

Do you feel like you got any better mpg when you set the procal to your new tire size?
