Default AEV Procal tire setting 35 KM2's

Hello,

I just purchased a set of 35x12.50 KM2's and I am measuring 34.25 in height. Can anyone with the Procal and 35'KM2's confirm if this is what you entered?

That sounds a little on the high side.

Are you measuring to edge of the shoulder or to the top of the tread?

WOL has a description of how to measure in a related thread.

Mine is set to 33.75 at 35 psi.

I took a straight edge on top of the tire and then measured straight down. I got 34.25".

I checked VS my GPS and seems accurate. I'm on the stock 7.5" wheels could be that and over inflation causing the 1/2" difference. I will recheck.

Thanks.

well you don't say how much psi you're running but spinlok said he runs 35psi (which sounds a bit high) so maybe check that.

I also think that .50 of an inch won't make a difference, so I would just go with what the tape says.

Exactly what mine measured at 35 psi (stock wheels), and with the Procal set for it, GPS confirmed an accurate adjustment for the speedometer.

IIRC, the Procal adjusts by the 1/4", so I'd go with trying it with your numbers, checking with a GPS, then if it's off, adjusting the Procal settings down 1/4" or 1/2" (or up, I guess) to account for any tire measurement errors.

Don't have KM2's but 35's. I used the measurement as a starting point then used my GPS vs the odometer to get it dialed in. I think I ended up at 33.25 or 3.75 to get it close. My speedometer was pretty dead on within an 1" or so but the odometer was off so checked it on the way back and forth to work, 19.5 miles, until they both matched. Only took a couple trips but didn't want to have the mileage be off.

Ok thanks, with stock wheels and KM2's, one of the Jeepers on here recommended running around 28/29 PSI for the best "wear". I just had them put on yesterday haven't had a chance to check the PSI, but I must be running high.

Thanks for the info!

The 28 psi number probably comes from running the chalk test.

My JK is my DD and I tend to cruise at 75+ MPH so I use tire load capacity and rolling resistance to select my tire pressure.

I usually run 30 psi in warm weather which provides a very good ride and handling for my taste. In cooler weather I run 33-35 psi, but the ride is a bit rougher.

I used 33.75 for my procal and it has worked out great, in sync with GPS. Strange, but after several months of having the KM2s on I measured them again and no joke, they grew!!!! I noticed they were right at 34.5, almost true to size of being 35s. Needless to say I was shocked. If you don't believe me, ask Wings Fan on here...he was with me when we measured it. I still have the procal set to 33.75 and its accurate. Very strange. And I never really change PSIs, except when offroad obviously. On road I keep a consistent 30 psi. I've had em at 28, but get better gas mileage and a little bit better ride with 30.
