Yep. Seal things up good and tight with some black silicone. If you didn't already do so, you should also extend all of your breather hoses (diffs, tranny, transfer case.) There are some good write-ups just do a search.

Default Silicon the drain hole on the bottom?

I installed my snorkel and siliconed the air box connection both inside and outside so the silicones would touch and mend together.

Do I need to seal those bottom drain holes too ?

I extended my axle breathers ONLY as I was told the Auto trans was already high against the
hood firewall. Is this true?

Yes seal up the 4 bottom drain holes to ensure it's waterproof. I would highly recommend you extend your Auto Trans breather tube and your transfer case if you are going to be doing some serious deep mud and water. Extend them up to the top of your firewall.

I have a 6speed manual but I have heard the Auto breather is pretty easy to extend it's just the Transfer Case that is a BEE with a itch.

BLUF: Did you guys seal top of airbox to lower half?

Not to revive a dead thread, but I've got a dumb question, which I think the OP was getting at:

I sealed all four hols on bottom, and I sealed where the snorkel comes in, inside and out. My question, do you seal the top half of the box to the lower half of the box? Not sure if that's tight enough to be WATER tight, hence the question.

I doubt it, but did you guys seal the airbox breather hose and connection to the TB? I imagine with hose clamps, no need...at least that's how I'm playing it.

No, I never did silicone the top half of the box to the lower half. Also, I never used silicone on the hose from the stock box to TB and have had no issues.

Default Hua!

Gents, thanks for the reply. I was 99% sure about the hoses, but not quite about the box. You've straightened it out for me (sts). Besides, the K&N drop-in seems to have a nice solid rubber seal on the outside anyways.
