Default AEV Wheels, The Outcome!

Hey Guys!

If any of you recall, there was a thread here regarding AEV. It was turning rather negative for them, regarding their wheels. I am the guy with the severly pitted wheels that posted the pics.

Let me just say that AEV stood up to the plate, and HIT A HOME RUN!!!!!

AEV aknowledged that yes, there was a problem in the past. This is NO LONGER A PROBLEM!!

The entire situation was explained to me. I will not disclose what transpired between AEV and myself, but I will assure you that I would not hesitate buying any of their product.

I was also invited to visit there Michigan office to double check what I was told.

I hope to go there for a visit this week, and will report back as to my findings.

And let me state, I do not now, or ever, have worked for, or been employed by AEV or any company associated with them. I am just a regular guy off of the street, that finally has had an old problem resolved very much to my satisfaction.

I will post pics of my NEW AEV wheels when I get them!

Mike

Glad to hear that they stepped up. I hope they replaced your wheels at cost (at the very least). Still deciding personally, if I want to do business with them since this should have been handled without outside pressure. I sure like their wheels though!

Ski,

I know what you mean. But, I have never had a company, that after 2+ years, stand up and fix a problem like this.

And let me say that I am not here to be a paid shill for AEV. But, I have the utmost confidence in this new AEV. They are an entirely different operation today, then they were 2+ yrs ago. Mike gave me a crash coarse in AEV history the other day.

You could say that they are under new managment. And from the way that I was treated this time around, I believe that AEV will be one of the better vendors to deal with in regards to our Jeeps.

I would say that they are a strong buy in my book!

I know Dave Yegge just left Jeep to work for them. He has been a jeep engineer for the last two models, had the first TJ unlimited (built by AEV which eventually led to the production model) and I know he is a good guy. I met him last year on the 'con when he bent a tie rod(I had a spare). He is a cool dude and a die hard jeeper.

Mike,
Thanks for taking the time to call Mike at AEV. I can assume now you got my PM with his contact info. I am hapy to hear they have stood behind the issue at hand, even if the wheels were from a different vendor. It certainly makes me feel more confident with my order of the AEV Pintler beadlocks!
Heck, it would be nice to see those guys partner up with the JK-forum here, what do you guys think?

Hey Localnet,
I'm glad to hear about your situation turning positive! I'm also glad to hear that AEV made good on their product, no matter who made it for them...

AEV seems like a great company from their awesome product line and insanely radical designing and engineering. They are the only company whose products are something I would imagine myself creating, so I'm releived that I can trust in their products being backed by them... After all, when you spend your hard-earned money on very expensive products, you hope that you won't come to regret that decision.... I'll pass the story along to those I've already explained your previous experience...

Unfortunately, I used my wheel-savings for baby stuff after hearing your bad experience and decided to keep my stock wheels... Oh well, it was something the wife was very happy about! I hope I can save enough, over the summer, to buy their Beadlocks!

Good to hear! I am really interested in their bead lock wheels and was watching this thread from a distance. Its a shame that a company needs to have a thread like the one mentioned to get results and a simple phone call with a problem does not. I hate to air my dirty laundry but sometimes you just have to so results happen. Glad you are getting your problem resolved! The previous problem would not stop me from buying from them but If I had a major problem I would call them and if it did not go like it SHOULD then I would bring it to their customer base to be sure it did.

Companies need to be held acountable for business decisions and they eventually realize great customer service goes a long way for growing a company. I never mind paying more for something if I feel like I am getting something for that premium weather it being customer service or aftermarket support etc...

Yea AEV.

I'm overseas so I'm unable to call AEV. I've sent them 3 emails over the last month and not one response. The "other guy's" responded and thus recieved my money. No way to earn my money if you dont write back.
