AFE Mach Force Hi-Tuck 2.5in vs 3in
Anybody with real world experience with either of these kits? I know most feel the 3in will "not have enough back pressure" but the muffler is right after the Y-pipe so doesnt that create immediate back pressure? plus, i have a vibrant resonator that I can always weld in if theres a drone or back pressure issue. I am gong for sound and functionality by clearing up the rear of my jeep to avoid trail damage and make removing my hitch much easier before wheeling. so lets say power difference is minimal and sound is all I'm going for, which one would sound deeper and have less ricer/drone sound to it? im not going for loud, just a nice sound with a practical setup.
thanks!
thanks!
I have a 08 jku with the 3" and i really like it. its quicker than before with more power and i can spin my 34"toyo mt on turns if i want to. I have a kn drop in air filter. it helps with the heavy add on bumper and winch.
I have the 3 inch system on my 12 JKU and I like it quite a bit. Has a very deep throaty sound without being super loud. For reference my tires make more noise then my exhaust on the highway so no drone. But at a light you hear a nice rumble. I did weld my system on vs clamping just to ensure no leaks but it is really nice.

I called today and they said that I would notice a loss in hp and tq with the 3" but that contradicts their claims on their site. I really want the throaty sound and not the import.

I have the afe 2.5 on my '12. Its nice sounds great. Welds could be better. Mine have a few pinhole leaks. One day ill get it replaced. I went with the 2.5 because the y pipe is 2.5. My muffler is in the stock position. It looks great
