AFE Power Pack... True or False?
I know we have a million professionals on here but don’t you think if they were going to make something up like this they would try and do something more believable?
I think the fact that the gains are that much are a few points towards believing it and I think they have better things to do then make crap up on the internet like other people on here. But hey to each there own!

I dont. If 5 people buy the kit because they saw that video and believed it, then it was worth it to them to make up crap for the video...

Furthermore, the requirements for network TV advertising are much higher than for internet ads, so you be the judge.

It has nothing to do with any profession, it is just buyer awareness and common sense.
I think it totally depends on the ethics and level of desperation of a company. Have you ever seen any of outlandish weight loss, hair growth and fast money making informercials on TV. They have been around for decades and yet there are many that have "bought" into them that are still overweight, bald and not wealthy.

Very well put!
goes along with my point, I think AFE is a reputable company and has better things to do then make outlandish claims on youtube.

Those are some pretty impressive power gains. The vid looks pretty legit, but I'd be interested in seeing where in the rpm range the power gains were experienced.
In my quest for more hp & better mpg in my 02 Toyota Double Cab 4x4 Tacoma, I replaced the exhaust with a Borla performance cat back system. There was a little noticeable performance increase (seat of the pants dyno), but no increase in mpg. Sounded nice though.
Some time later I installed a throttle body spacer & K&N FIPK kit. The only gains I noticed (s.o.t.p.d) seemed to be way up in the rpm near redline. My MPG actually decreased slightly & it seemed like I lost some power/torque down low. It also had a very loud intake noise.
First I ended up taking just the throttle body spacer to see if it would quiet the intake noise. No difference in power, noise or anything.
Then I put the stock intake back on & was amazed by how much low-end power returned.
So to sum up. My experience with cat back systems was a good one.
The intake & throttle body spacer was not.
Hope this helps save someone some money.
