I am going to start to modify my 2012 Unlimited. I like to buy high quality products as much as I can, but also like to save some money. I was wondering where you guys, and girls, recommend I look to for my build products.
Who has the best prices on the best products?? Tires, wheels, suspensions, exhausts.

I like nothridge4x4. Free shipping sometimes pays for itself. For bigger and hard to find brands, NR4x4 is one if fav's.

I have found a couple local truck shops matching prices too. Try local, it sometimes works out better. With local dealers no need to deal with warranty issues 100's or 1000's of miles away.

Welcome to the world of Jeep modification. There is no answer to your question. Do a lot of reading, look at other guys rigs, figure out what you need for your purposes. You'll find everyone has an opinion and or favorite Jeep Mod company....some will feel more strongly than others. I went with the forum favorite 3 years ago and figured out I didn't like the quality of their stuff when it fell apart 3 years later. The key is to do what you want and what will work for you and what you want to pay...not because it looks BAD-ASS in a forum picture.

Watch for sales on the vendor forums, scour the net, read lots, google potential problems.

I should add that mail order is great if you plan to do your own installing. Many shops will bump up their labor fees if you bring them parts.

Find a local 4x4 shop YOU LIKE, see what they are authorized dealers of and research those.

Good Luck!!!

Northridge. Also Eric over at offroad elements will sometimes match or beat them. Or the best place really is the forums. I have a RK 2.5" x-factor with fox 2.0 that I'm probably only out $700-$800 on. New it would have been bout $2500. And that's new springs , low miles on the shocks, and basically all the control arms are brand new since replaced every bushing, sleeve, and joint on them which I'm including the price of in that $700-$800 price.

Also the DIY mods on the forums save you money. I love forums. They are great for getting good used quality products.

I agree Eric at off-road elements is a great guy and does his best at getting you what you want. He was getting me some stuff and was emailing me at 10pm making sure everything was right. Not very many owners would do that.

Yes, I will be doing the work myself. I love having my hands on my cars and trucks. You get a sense of accomplishment doing things yourself. I reworked my 73 Mach 1 from engine rebuild, tranny, rear end. Something I am very proud of. No doubt the JK will make me feel the same way when it is done!!! But are they ever done !!!!!! There will always be another mod to be done !!!!
Thanks for the ideas. im looking forward to the challenge.

I'll add river city offroad in Austin. You deal usually directly with the owner Marcus himself. Helped me out last night with just ordering some rebuild parts. Will match best he can (usually only a couple dollars more) and great customer service.
