Default Aftermarket Diff covers question(s)

I have Dana 30 front and Dana 44 rear and looking at Riddler covers. Should I use RVT or Lubelocker gaskets to seal? Also, should I go with regular gear oil or synthetic?

If anyone also has a different suggestion for brand of covers, throw that in too.

Thanks

lube lockers are reusable, RTV seems to give a more flush seal with less chance of prying the diff cover on a rock. id use synthetic since you will already be in there and cleaning the housing out.

Had the Riddler covers with LubeLockers when I had 44s without any problems. Using RTV on my Dynatracs now. Either way you should be fine.

I just got ARB covers and installed lube lockers. I asked my mechanic after he did my regear who specializes in off road vehicles (thats all he does) which fluid to go with and he recomended a name brand regular dyno oil. Says synthetic is fine for engines but diff should have regular oil. He said that dyno oil pulls heat from the gears more effectivly. I beleive him since I really trust him. I also have a warranty so I am followng his instructions.

The lube lockers have not leaked a drop. I cannot recomend ARB covers enough, they are premo quality and the dip stick is a nice feature. It also has two REALLY strong magnets, the dip stick and drain plug. Having extra magnets in ur diff cant be a bad thing.

I put Rancho Diff Cvrs on both my front and rear 44's using Lube Lockers.

After a few months I noticed that the front was leaking and then later the rear. Some of the bolts were loose so I re-torqued the bolts and was fine for 6-7 months, then I noticed another leak in front and the bolts again were loosened.

Can't figure out why this is happening. Just have to keep monitoring garage floor for drips and then re-tighten.

just installed riddlers sat. , low profile, no interference with anything, go syn. lube, and get a few cans of brake cleaner to clean out the housings. give northridge a call on thse riddlers(great price) DO NOT BE TEMPTED TO FILL THE DIFF TO THE FILL PLUG(restrain yourself) 2 qts front and 2 qts rear. i ran the lube lockers but rtv will work just the same. its all in what you want. and to the post above me blue locktight never hurt anything

So did I. But this was about a month ago. No problem so far. Got them from northridge as a package deal. Pretty sweet
