Aftermarket Door Stops
Well one oem stop already broke. Ive seen a couple different ones in some of the catalogs I get. Im really looking for this one ive seen a couple years ago. It had like a ratchet mechanism that would hold the door at a couple different positions and for the life of me i cant figure out who made it. any hints?
I was wondering how long they last. I take my doors off all the time and that probably wears them out faster. Where did it break at?
With the dome light switch in the door now, it's not a simple matter of just replacing a nylon strap, there's the wiring cover that's integrated into the door strap as well.
I've been drawing up some ideas for a positive detent door catch mechanism,
I'll share when it's done.
I saw something similar to what you are looking for in the Qtech catalog, but none for the JK yet:sad:

The neat feature about this ratchet one im looking for is that the door will only swing open a little till it hits the first ratchet, then you must push on the door to open it further. The reason i want something like this is when offroading and passengers that are unfamiliar with jeeps door tent to open the up rather quickly especially in an off camber situation. The door would fly open and the mirror will put a nice dent in the cowl.
It broke at the loop.
