Aftermarket Lug nut help.......lost a tire while driving

Pro Comp lug nuts are fine if you know what you are doing. You can't put the black ones on and off with an impact. The hammering is what damages the coating and causes rust on the nuts. I always put mine on and off by hand. And working in the automotive industry, I cannot stress how important a torque wrench is. Torque after every rotate and the next day, don't just lean on the wrench because your a big guy and call it a day.

Your probably right. I just dislike having to carry a lug key. After having one break 300 miles away from home with my 9 month pregnant wife and not being able to trailer the jeep home in a timely fashion I vowed not to use special keys anymore. I know the Pro Comp splines are no good. HAs any one had a bad experience with Gorilla?? I would want black if possible to match the rims. Still pissed about the whole thing.

I remove and torque to 95 lbs by hand. I have easy access to air tools but don't use it for lugs. Rotated 3 times so far and no issues such as rusting.
I'm 6'4" @ 285lbs, about your size, so even with a one foot 1/2" drive rachet, it's very easy to waaay overtorque.
Hope you find out the cause of your loose nuts
Go buy one new oem stud and lugnut, see how your procomps nuts fit it and then see how your old oem's fit it , then see how a new oem nut fits it. Compare it to a few of your old studs. You should be able to narrow it down to tell if your old stock studs threads are stretched or nuts are bad.
More good feedback guys. I will look at the gorillas. I called 4WP after this happened just to see if they had experienced any issues with these lugs (a few of their guys are active in the local jeep community and I trust to be honest) and they said they have had no issues and have installed them with pro comp wheels regularly. The guy did not know about swapping back to OEM. I guess at 4WP once you go black you don't go back.

Luminox are awesome. They arent quills or fletching, its the actual nock that lights up. They are I believe pressure sensitive so they only light up when you actually shoot the arrow. Now that I think of it, I dont know if they make them for crossbows since the nock setup is different than a compound.
I recommend changing back to the spline lug nuts. My guess is that the aftermarket wheels are not compatible with the factory lug nuts. When I got black steel wheels, the tire Discount Tire insisted that I change lug nuts. They explained that the angle where the surface of the lug nut meets the wheel was not the same on the aftermarket wheel and new matching lug nuts were required. I have had no problem with chrome splined lug nuts they sold to me.
