Default Aftermarket Shifter Boots?

Has anybody on here replaced their shifter boot with a custom one (different color, cloth, camo etc etc)?

No, but I tried to raise mine up on the shifter a little the other day and the whole plastic base popped up out of it's seat- which I thought was a little cheap/poorly designed. Fortunately it was fairly easy to fix. Just had to get down there and see which way to bend the base to get it back together. It shouldn't be too hard to change the boot though.

I have made a few out of leather and a few out of camo (ACU ) for a some people. I will try to find some pictures.

Is this something that people would be interested in? I could always become a supporting sponsor and make a few

Omega,

I would take one in Digital Camo if ya wanna make it. I will need some help replacing it. Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? You should consider putting those on the Basement Crafts fair, selling em. Custom Shift boots can be made but they are EXPENSIVE! Will you pm me if you would be interested in making one for me?

I am stuck out of town right now. I will get some information to those who wanted it. I am considering the basement craft fair, but It will probably be the Feb one due to work.

I will gather the information when I get home. The ACU digital is the hardest one to get do to the material.

I imagine I could match other interior colors as well I just need to work on the dye mix to match. Black is fairly easy. I like leather in a vehicle because it cleans well and is durable.

I can also show you the door pull and the dash grab handle wrap. Top notch stuff for sure.

Sourcing ACU fabric isn't hard at all nowadays. Heck, it's even getting almost easy to get MultiCam fabric nowadays... speaking of which.. you let me know what size of fabric you need, and I can prolly ship you enough fabric in MultiCam to make one for me and one or two for yourself!

Forget about ACU (aka I C U !). MultiCam is where it's at!

Before you guys go ahead with this, be advised that the shift boot is permanently attached to the shift boot console trim that goes around the bottom. The only way to remove the rubber part is to break the little plastic rivets holding the pieces together. The plastic rivets will not be reusable, and the top and bottom of the trim around the boot are plastic. They make an aluminum ring that goes around the top of the shift boot, but the bottom plastic oval is re-used to sandwich it all together. Once you break the plastic rivets, the top oval of plastic is useless.
