Default Aftermarket shifter for JK?

Hi everybody. New to the forum, but not to jeepin! We are a Jeep family - I am on my 4th Wrangler(JK), and my wife drives a brand new Sahara Unlimited which she traded in her 2011 Grand Cherokee for. I currently own a 2009 Rubicon 2 dr that has primarily been my daily driver because of working most of my waking hours. My work situation has changed and I'm ready to start using my Jeep as it was intended. It is paid for and is still very 'tight' since most of the 66k miles are highway. The only thing really worn on it is the tires (original!), which I will upgrade anyway. I plan on doing the standard mods, but I am interested in getting a better shifter for the manual trans. The shifter has been my only complaint since I've owned it. It has always been sloppy and the distance between gears is worse than most trucks I've driven!

I haven't had any luck finding an aftermarket 'performance' type shifter and wonder if any of you can point me in the right direction.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Theres really nothing you can do unfortunately. There is no shifter linkage on the NSG370 so you can't put in a short throw or anything. The lack of linkage is also why the shifter flops around so much over bumps. Its moving with the entire drive train.

D-engel is correct. There was a shop that designs shifters that considered it, but apparently the complexity was too much and the cost would be very unreasonable.

However, since you have a 3.8 engine, you are obviously in need of an LS engine swap. With that you'll have an auto trans and your problem is solved!

The engine swap would be cool, but I'd still want a stick shift.
