Default Air aid filter??

I have about 12,000 miles on my Air aid intake filter. Very little off road use or even that much durt road driving because the snow just left the area not to long ago. So the guestion is when and how do I clean the filter. I know you need to oil it after you clean it. I bought some Kand N oil. Will that work on the Air aid? Im assuming it would but I want to be sure. My wife says I seem to break two things when I fix one.

Instructions from the source:

hXXp://www.airaid.com/Filter_Tuneup.aspx (replace XX with tt)

Don't know about using the K&N oil, wouldn't think it would be a big deal.

You can just buy a K&N recharge kit at the auto parts store. It will come with the cleaner.
