Default air bladder beadlocks?

Had never heard of those until I read the article here on JK Forum.

Wheels Go Round: A Look into Wheels for Your Jeep | JK Forum

They seem like a good idea. I wonder if they could even allow for running the tires flat for short distances if needed.

Anyone use or used them? What's you experience with them?

Or, do we really need them to run, for example, the OEM BFG MT 32in tires in the OEM rims at 10psi?

When do we really start needing bedlocks?

Cheers!

They won't work with TPMS. That's straight from the guys at Staun.

As far as the need for beadlocks, it depends on the type of wheeling you do and how low you air down.

No TPMS in my Jeep (2007).

As far as pressure. Down to 8 or 10psi for deep snow and around 15psi for trails. No crawling, just overland.

I was very interested in these last year since you can run whatever rim you want. My shops big problems with the idea were 1 delicate to install, easy to mess up. 2 "IF" you end up damaging a tire and it needs repaired mid trip, Nobody is going to be able to fix it save for a very few specialty shops. I do enough long trips with many random trails in between that I wont use these for that reason.

The option I was given instead was interco birddogs. No lock but designed to get down to 8 psi and retain the bead. Iv heard nothing bad about them yet and theyll be my next rim for sure

Stay muddy my friends
