Default Air Filter - Clean or Upgrade?

Just wanting to get some input from you guys regarding cleaning the original air filter or replacing with an aftermarket like a K & N or something. Just hit 20k miles and i'm assuming I should do one of the two by now so what would you guys recommend? I guess the only thing holding me back from going aftermarket is I might one day want to get a cold air intake which I believe comes with an airfilter right? Thanks

you can buy an high airflow air filter that fits your EM box, and see if you like the outcome.

Thank you for your response. Before pulling the trigger on an aftermarket air filter kinda wanted to get some feedback from guys that use an aftermarket filter. Should I just clean the OEM filter or is it better to go aftermarket? Thanks

Get a drop in k&n filter and call it good ..... I noticed about a 1 MPG gain, no power difference but I never need to buy another filter again..... just clean it whenever it needs to be done

I use purolator air filters oem-alike air filters because they're inexpensive so i can change it frequently. I think K&N has done a great job of convincing people to spend money on air filters. The stock air box is well designed.

Yes the stock air box is well designed .... that's why I said a drop in filter so you can still utilize the stock air box

I went with an AFE Dry filter. Good reviews, no oil to mess with, easy to clean, lifetime warranty.
