I had one briefly (can't remember the name, it was one of the most popular). The power was not noticeable and the extra noise was intolerable. I gave it away to the first person who would swamp me their stock airbox.

I had one on my JK unlimited and did not notice a difference but I had already reprogrammed the computer with Hypertech and the noise level was not something that I was willing to live with so I took it back off and reinstalled the factory intake.

they work at increasing your odds at hydro lock and giving you a 0-2 mpg boost

I think you can achieve 5HP boost with intake.....at about 6000RPMs

The average boost i've seen from people who dyno their cars after installing stuff, was about 2-5HP from intake, and 5-20HP with exhaust (thats without catalytic converter, and after market headers)
And thats between 4000-7000RPM @ 70+MPH

Alot of times you can assume around 100 pounds removed from a vehical will free up around 5 horsepower give or take. Same with weight added and loosing horsepower. I dont know too much about after market air intakes other then the snorkle for the JK (cause thats what im getting) but i can say the reason briandunning might have not noticed any more performance and gave away his intake is 5, or even 10 horsepower is really not that much. (IMO) You may gain 10hp from it but then when ur buddy gets into the passenger seat for a ride his weight may kinda neglect that.

FYI i used to be much more into cars and racing before i was introduced to the Jeep world which is where i get thoes facts from, i know Jeeps are different and my whole weight and hp thing may not aply to the JK at all, but my opinion stands 5-10hp isnt much of an increase for the price some of these air intakes are going for

I sold mine 2 days ago in this forum.

I didn't like it because when I was wheeling in water, the filter was a little bit wet; the OEM filter has a better protection.

I did not see any difference about the gas, but I liked the sound!

Mine has yielded some useful throttle response in lower RPMs, but thats about it. As stated, even if the 5-10HP is accurate, it would be at peak RPMs, which doesn't do a whole lot of good for a Jeep.

I feel better throttle response, 1-2 mpg increase, and I like the growl.

But like others have said before me, if you're in a lot of water, stay away from them

I wouldn't put a CAI on a Jeep.
