Default Air Intakes...best/worst??????

Need some opinions about which intake system to buy.I would like it to be an easy install since I am by no means a mechanic. Sound under the hood isn't as important to me as performance. Any help would be appreciated!!!! Thanks

K&N Best if you got the coin. The freest flowing filter made.

The K&N is the only one I would avoid, only because it filters signifcantly worse than the competition, other than that I don't think there is much of a difference. I'm content with my Airaid for the $150 I invested in it, wouldn't have spent much more than that based on the results though. If major mud and water fording risk is a possibiliy, do yourself a favor and stay stock or invest in a snorkle.

When I get enough coin together, I will try out the True Flow XDI because the filter element is better protected than with most other kits. Not that I go through a lot of water or mud, but it is good to know I can if I find any and not worry as much about my filter getting soaked. For this reason, Volant would be my other choice.

I like the Volant as well, especially the ability to add the snorkle (eventually). It is kinda pricey though.

Default True-Flow XDI

I went with the True-Flow XDI. A good friend of mine owns a performance shop and highly recommended it. They're not cheap though. The run anywhere from 300-350 bucks.

I definitely agree that paper offers the best filtration, also that there isn't a big performance boost. In my experience w/ the Airaid there is some benefit though, mostly improved responsiveness and a little extra kick around 2400RPM+. I seem to be getting the best fuel econmy yet in the JK, I think it may help there as well (albiet slightly).

I have the AEM Brute Force. No noticeable difference from stock. I am going back to the stock box and adding the aev snorkel.
