Airaid Cai
There are quite a few Threads on the AIRAID but nothing concrete as far as the "whistle" of this intake. I installed the intake and my whistle is quite loud, it sounds like brakes when they are due to be replaced. Is this the normal whistle sound?
PS for those of you that dont have it yet it is well made and
the sound is awesome!

I had the same thing happen. Became more noticable when the larger pipes went it. This thread answered all my questions

I just installed mine last night. I noticed the whistle right away, mainly below 2000 rpm. It doesn't happen all the time, it is annoying tho...from what i read on this forum, it is quite "normal". I'll still play with the connections tonight and see if any of the adjustments make a difference...
other than that, the quality is good, install easy, sound and power is good...tooo early to tell if MPG is a positive yet.

Same here. For a brief second, it sounds like the Vortech supercharged Mustang that I used to have. Doesn't bother me, my understanding has always been that it's just what a CAI sounds like. The whistle from 1800-2000 RPM's then the Growl when the RPM's start revving.

Have the AEM Brute Force, whistles around 1900 rpm, took it off because it is annoying...then I noticed that the stock intake also whistles, just not so loud. I think the open air filter element allows the sound to be more heard. Now I have to decide if the benefits (albeit probably perceived) are worth the whistle...
