I have one also. It is gonna get dirty quickly if you wheel in a dusty enviroment.

Airaid sells as well as others (K&N etc.) a cleaning kit. It comes with a cleaning solution that breaks down the oil in the filter. Hose it off, let it dry and then use oil to recharge the filter (comes with the kit, redish color). Its not very time consuming, longest wait will be on the filter to dry. Run a ligh coating of oil on each fin and your good to go.

MKJeep has modified his Airbox with foam and sealed it more to help reduce a possible hydrolock. I am sure he will chime in and have photos!

Also, invest in a pre-filter it is basically a water repellent bag that fits over the airraid filter and pro-longs the cleaning intervals and helps filter out finer dust particles.

That is nice. I will first clean it and do the same.

Where do i get the plastic cover from? this modification will not effect the performance of the jeep?

By the way...the engine is clean...I have mud and dirt all over

Nooo, the roof flashing is the front of the airaid box since it didnt have one. Ordered the pre-filter from O'Reilly's auto parts.
