Default Airing down with wide tires and stock Moabs?

I know a 12.50 (305) wide tire will fit on the stock wheel, but is it ok to air down? just thinking about that wide of a tire on a 7.5" wide wheel kinda makes me cringe.

I'm not talking about rubbing or clearance - just offroading with that setup.

I have 305's on Moabs, and have been told that it's fine. They act kind of like a 'poor mans' beadlock.

Please note, I have absolutely no proof of this except that last time I aired my tire did not fall off.

No problem at all :-) I run 37" 12.50 17 MTR's on stock rims down to 10 psi with no problem what so ever

Get some spacers you'll be fine. I ran my moabs for 4 years on 37s
