Default Airraid CAI and Throttle Body Problem, HELP!!!

Help needed! Today I installed my Airraid CAI and throttle body spacer. EZ as pie only took me an hour. Test drove it and loved the extra bass. I did notice that the idle was dropping and jumping when I parked it. Then I went on a longer trip and all was well untill I got off the highway. The attached lights came on. The ESP light was solid and the red was blinking. I could only maintain 45mph!! I pulled over and checked everything out and it looked just fine but the idle was ROUGH. When I restarted the lights went out and all was cool for about 5 miles then blam! Same problem. Has anyone had this happen? Any suggestions for a fix would be hugely appreciated! Thanks for the read and all suggestions!

You likely have either destroyed the gasket between the throttle body and the manifold, or don't have things tightened down.

I would disconnect the battery, back out the throttle body inspect the gaskets and re-install. Be sure to move in a cross pattern while tightening the throttle body and be careful not to over tighten the somewhat fragile throttle body,

Also inspect the AIT sensor as it could be damaged as well.

There really isn't much else that could go wrong. This isn't a major upgrade and the CAI is only going to give nominally more air in the intake manifold. The TBS likewise will only provide really low end throttle response (below 1500) and no additional power.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick responses. I don't think I messed up the gasket but will check. I disco'd the negative terminal on the battery but not the positive; will that suffice to reset the computer?? Thanks again.

I have the same intake. You probably broke the intake sensor. Did u put anything on that sensor to remove it? I would go buy a new onr from chrysler and install.

Had mine for a year and like the sound

I used a flathead screw driver to work it our. I just double checked everything and think that is all it can be. There are not obvious breaks or cracks on it... I re-booted the computer by disco'ing and reconnecting the battery. The lights still come on and the idle is still bouncing...

Any idea how much the sensor replacement is????

Thanks you all!

That sensor is sensitive, you might of hit it with the screw driver. It may cost like 40 bucks, not sure. If u take the negative terminal off put your foot on the brake for 30 sec. To clear everything. I bet its the sensor though

Problem solved! I left the battery disco'd overnight and the computer finally reset and the idle is perfect. Thank you all for the assist; I was upset at the prospect of having to replace the sensor!

Thanks again!
