Alloy chromoly front axles & Aussie locker

How did your jeep handle on snowy and icey roads with the aussie? I was looking into one for my front end, but lots of people didn't recommend it if I was gonna be driving it in the snow. I didn't think it would be a problem as long as I wasn't on the gas going through the turn, the locker should be allowing the diff to free wheel then. I usually wait till I'm out of a turn to get back on the gas anyways when I'm in snow.
