Default Alternative to Superchips 3875...

Looks like the 3875 isn't available for the 2011 yet.. the proverbial "2 months" before it is released. Ironic that it isn't out yet and we're into the 2012 MY.

There a bunch of other options I've compiled but not sure which is the better one. AEV Procal, Bullydog, Hypertech Max Energy tuner etc. Not all are 2011 compatible.

My priorities are to program for 33's so I get speedo & ESP calibration corrected and a little more power on part throttle. I know there is no magic-potion when it comes to these thing so my expectations are low..

Likely adding an Airaid CAI and Magnaflow as well... that would be the extent of my performance mods.

Suggestions for the 2011??

I'm running the DiabloSport Predator.. gave me a small power boost, re-set computer for 35's, and improved gas mileage. It also can set your idle higher for running a winch. I've planning on doing RIPP headers and MBRP exhaust, so that was the way to go for me. I would consider doing something other than CAI if I were you.. it doesn't give you much bang for your buck from what I hear.

Thanks for the response.. the DiabloSport Predator wasn't on my list so I'll do some digging aroung..

Can you post a link to where you bought it? Google gives me a few options for this unit, but it about $800.. The other options aren't JK compatible.

The exhaust is primary... The JK is way too quiet and between the weight improvement and eliminating the entry pipe with the huge dent it in, the exhaust is definitely on the short list.

The CAI is more for the aural feedback. I don't have much of a worry with deep water. When driving a six speed I prefer to hear a bit more feedback from the motor..

Got it at truckcustomizers.com.. the model you want is U7137. Also you have to get the PC interface kit (U7778) in order to download the latest updates. Pain in the ass but it's worth it. Came to about $300 with free shipping.

So I've read as much as i could find here...

Looks like what I had originally found was the Trinity unit which, though I am no stranger to custom software tunes on other platforms, is more than I want to tackle on the JK.

It appears the 7137 does what I need. The tire size calibration and a mild performance tune. I would use the 87 & 91. From what I see, it looks like these are stock tunes included with the unit, yes? Curious why you say it's a pain in the ass.. is that because you need the USB interface as well, or is the actual flash process a PITA to do? It says it's only a 60 second flash and that the programs are self-discovering..

Yes, these are stock tunes that come with it. It also has the capability to do custom tunes, supposedly by a DiabloSport dealer, but I suspect you can do it on your own if you know what you're doing. The actual flash process IS very easy. The PITA part is updating the software on the unit. I just found it confusing, but then again I was drinking as I was doing it

no one at this time supports the 2011. The last thing I heard was that the engineers changed something in the programming for 2011 and the aftermarket tuners haven't figured out how to crack it yet.

Yup still no 2011 support for any tuner... Unfortunately.
