Aluminized vs Stainless
I installed a Gibson Alumized exhaust on a truck I use to own. It rusted away to nothing in less than three years!!? Gibson wouldnt do anything about it! Save the hassle go with a Stainless MBRP! I will never go with Gibson again. Customer service is not one of their specialites!
I had the Gibson split dual aluminized. It literally rusted through and fell off my Jeep (while driving) after about 1 year. Gibson replaced it with the "new design" (better welds). I put the second one on but I painted most of it with a high heat anti rust paint. It has been about 2 years and is starting to show signs of rust.
I don't have a problem with Gibson, I found their customer service excellent. However, I would not ever go aluminized again. Save up the extra $$ and get the stainless steel.

Depends on the grade of stainless steel. What is typically used in aftermarket exhaust systems, 409 Stainless, will eventually rust, but it takes a LONG time or the appropriate conditions.
Typically 300 series stainless and some higher nickel content 400 series stainless steels are very resilient to rust (sounds stupid to say stainless is resilient to rust, but...you understand).
Aluminized is just low carbon steel with an aluminized coating. It will rust nearly as fast as the old crappy low carbon steels with no coating. Stay away from that if you want it to stay on your vehicle for more than a year (if in stay infested areas) or three years or so in dry, warm climates with little salt.
Dynomax uses both, but we recommend purchasing our stainless series exhaust systems for longevity.

As usual Imposter nails it.
I found this video the other day and found it informative.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G5zzRKqDP0 A lot of the mucsle car/hot rod crew will run aluminized but they never (OK rarely) drive in bad weather and if they do, they wash their vehicles right away.
