Default Aluminum bumper?

I was curious if anyone had the Rugged Ridge rear aluminum bumper pods and if so, have you used the Drings to pull anyone out or be pulled out? How did they hold up? I'm really concerned about adding more weight to my 2007 JKSU! I like the look of the setup but if its going to break.......

I'm pretty sure the drings are attached to the frame there right? if your worried about damage, maybe replace the hardware or drings, they'll be as strong as the frame is.
how much are you finding the bumper pods for? they seem way overpriced from what I've seen ($500+)

You could go GenRight all Alum bumper too for a little less.
I'm considering this option.

I dont have the Rear RR aluminum bumper pods but i do have the front one and used the D rings just this past friday when we got hit with snow. It was weighted compared to factory and does weight less! They worked great IMO and am planning on getting the rear soon, love the look of a stubby bumper or bumper pods for rear

I shy away from aluminum bolted to steel.
Google electrolysis kids-you're building a battery that will rot your vehicle especially when moisture and road salt (electrolyte) is present. Ah like winter? Check out transport trailers that are a few years old.

The alternative would be GenRight. They've got an aluminium rear bumper that looks more like a normal bumper. It also doesn't cost as much - several hundred less if you were thinking of adding the RR center section. About the only downside I see is that it doesn't give you quite as much clearance, but that's mostly due to the corner protection it provides.

I've been running the Aberle Off-Road Cast Aluminum bumpers with no issues.

Load path for extraction points are directly to frame.
I love the way the swing out tire carrier follows the factory tailgate.
Very Stout swing-out.
