Default Aluminum Jeep JK Drop Tailgate

I wanted to give a quick shout out to the guys at Bink's Fab for their excellent work fabricating my new aluminum tailgate:

Beautiful work!! I've been designing and wanting to build my drop down gate almost just like this!!! If you don't mind me asking, what'd that set you back? Aluminum, custom fab work, etc., had to be a pretty good chunk. But very worth it!!!!

I like the look a lot, but I like the security and the look of a spare tire!

Default this is much cooler idea

to bad Chrysler didn't do this on the new ones ! paint don't match but as far as the spare goes if you have a or fab tail gate it works like mine you still have your spare there

Sadly, I'll be covering most of the work with the spare on the swing out! The top of the tailgate is raw brushed aluminum worksurface that will come in handy out in the woods.

I had them do this mixed in with a bunch of other work (like welding a front axle truss and sand-blasting and re-powder coating the bumpers) and I haven't yet broken out what it cost exactly. It was more than a grand, less than 2. I had roached my stock rear tailgate on the Rubicon this summer:

and was going to end up spending about half of that in repairs to get a factory tailgate put back.
