Default Am I correct in thinking.....?

Okay, i'm going to install a 2.5" rk lift on my 09 2dr. I'll be running a 35-12.50 on 18x9" wheels. I know I need a -12 to have the correct backspacing, however the wheels I want only come in positive 1, 14, or 20 offsets. I have done a little research, but am I correct in thinking if I purchase the +20 offset and then run 1.5" spacers, that will get me closest to the 4.5" of backspacing I need?

+20 offset on a 9" wheel is about a 5.75" BS. Add a 1.5" spacer and you'll be at 4.25" BS. You'll be good.

Thanks, that's what I came up with too. Still have a dilemma though....the salesman pointed out the +20 will be almost a flat faced wheel. he is recommending the +1 so I will have a larger lip. I agree with him but the +1 and spacers will give me 3.50" and the tires will stick out too far i'm afraid. The 17" wheel with the -12 is looking better and better.

Save yourself the headache and get the 17's. You will spend a lot less money on tires as well, and have a better selection.

I think I would find a different rim with the appropriate backspace, doesn't really make sense to buy brand new rims that you have to also buy spacers just to run...
