Default Am I making the right choice with lift?

Ok, I have in my garage a slightly used TF 2.5 BB with shock extenders (not the spring lift), Rubi shocks and a set of Unlimited tow springs. Im on a budget. I drive a 2 door Auto that is my daily driver that will see a off road trips maybe 2-3 times a year. I am planing on 33's (35's im thinking are a bit much for gas for a daily driver but then again....) and need to know if I should go for it for change my thinking? I want a higher/wider stance with a lift but read that I may have drive shaft issues and what not. You experts know the answers, looking for some help. Thanks to all that reply!

I would go ahead and put the TF Budget Boost on with the shock extenders and the rubicon shocks. Don't worry about the springs for now. That would net you about 2.5" of lift. That should not cause problems with driveshafts at all. Using the unlimited tow springs with the spacers would probably push you past 3" of lift and that is driveshaft-eating territory.

You could run either 33s or 35s on a 2.5" lift. The only thing I see that you are missing are extended brake line brackets, but you could always fab some up on your own.

Personally: I run a 2" BDS budget boost with BDS shocks and 33s and think its perfect for a daily driver that occasionally wheels. I would do 2.5" if BDS had them.

I have a 2dr with the TF 2.5 BB, I bought new teraflex shocks with mine though. I love the lift, I run 33s and have no issues.

Go for it. I ran the 2.5"BB with extensions for a year and it wheeled great and rode like stock.

Good to hear but I see you have a 6 speed. Mine is a auto and I believethat I will have driveshaft problems with a auto. Will I be OK with the 2.5 and 33'sor 35's and minor flexing?

Nobody can say whether you will or will not have driveshaft issues with any lift brand or height. Do a few searches, and you'll find people losing the boot with 2" lifts. You'll also see people running 4" lifts with no driveshaft problems at all. Sooo.....

Playing the odds, at 2.5 inches with minor flexing and not disconnected (you don't have a Rubi, and there was no mention of disconnects, correct?) you should be fine. If/when the driveshaft does start to go, it should be gradual and not an immediate concern.

Well said and thank you. That was what I was going with just need the reinforcement fron the forum. Would you agree that I should run just the BB and not add the unlimited springs? I plan on getting discos and all but havent found the magic tree of money yet that went missing with new jobs and paycuts....one day!
