Default Amp Research power steps

looking for people who have them and your thoughts with durability, also need some pics of them installed and in the UP position, seems i can find tons of pics with them down but only a few while up, need to see how they fit the body

i really hate to get rid of my rubicon rock sliders because they fit so well and hide the factory body lip and seem to finish off the side of the jeep very well, i need to add a step and ive always liked the AMP steps on trucks but havent seen many jeeps with them

Really depends on what you are looking for...I ran them for years on my truck and they worked great. When the door shut they tucked up pretty high and out of the way. My brother had a problem with his but it was mostly because his diesel truck had the exhaust too close and some connectors melted but that was an early design problem. I don't know of anyone in our area who is running them.

I did have the Amp one's on my 2008 F350 bro Truck. They kick ass on that app but not on a Jeep.

I know a guy who has these, a little pricey but they are built really well.

Default Amp Research power steps

I have AMP power steps on my JK. It's built really nice. Here are my commens:

* if you wheel offroad and they get filled/covered with mud or snow, they sometimes happen to not close up completely or even not close at all. Driving with step open looks really stupid. Never had any issues in normal on-road conditions.

* if order to avoid problems mentioned above, I installed an extra disconnecting button in dash. If I have them disconnected, then I can play offroad as much as I want. They simply then always stay at UP position. Even with door open. After coming back I clean them with power washer, then turn "on" and everything works perfectly.

* AMP Research has the best customer service. I'm in Europe and once had a big issue with one of the motors. After doing some tests by following their instructions and it turned out that it needs to be replaced. I received the new one from USA to Poland after 3 days!!!

* the biggest plus is they give you 5 years warranty

* even though I'm not a very hardcore offroader, I sometimes like to make my JK play hard and get dirty very much. It hasn't happened yet to me but every time I wonder what would happen if I hit something with one of the steps. Actually they are quite high and pretty hidden in up position but the concern in my mind is always there.

* one more remark - whenever I get out from Jk, people always stare like hell. It's really impressive in action

I sent it from my phone but after coming back home, I will add photos to this post.

Edit: add photos.
