1500 for labor??? Just a wild guess.

Have you talked to Stan @ northridge4x4 Canada about parts yet?

you really need to shop around man, have you called some places up here in Deadmonton? I know of a shop that would have installed mine for 1200 labour only...but I came to the same conclusion as you, educated myself and did it in the garage....though there are a couple other places around here that would probably do it cheaper, they're all good...but yes, you do pay for gear set up for sure

$2,000 for labour! I almost went into labor....the contractions almost killed me!!

I have not called Stan yet - definitly a plan; he's aces in my book.

Ya, I will have to diligently search for places - our 4X4 shops down here have a rape and pilage mentality....will look into mom and pop shops.....I may have to run to deadmonton.....I can stomach $1200.

You should look into performing it yourself. If you have some automotive mechanical experience it is not hard to do but it is very time consuming. You can get your gears and a rebuild kit for Dana axles pretty reasonably (at least in the states). The keys to doing it successfully are CLEANLINESS and PATIENCE! There is lots of resources on the web for install and setup.

The first one that I did was a Dana 44 in a CJ and it is happily living after many thousands of miles!

Good luck with your project!
