Another Death Wobble Issue
I have the death wobble on my 07 JKU. About a year ago I had the death wobble when it was stock. It did not happen often, but scary when it did. I had not messed with the front end at all. I replaced both front sway bar links with new ones from the dealership and all 4 tires, that fixed the problem. It did not do it again.
Now, I just put a TF 2.5" BB on the jeep and will need to go to a 3" or 4" spring lift, as the BB is not enough lift with everything I have in front. I loosened all 4 control/flex arms, I did not take the nuts off, but I could slide the bolt back and forth inside the housing. So, I figured that was loose enough. I took off the track bar and replaced it with a TF adjustable track bar. I lowered the jeep and then torqued the bolts to the proper specifications. I had the front end aligned also. To center the axle, I used a 4 foot level against the front tire. The jeep was farther toward the drivers side, so I had the front of the jeep pushed toward the drivers side. Then I installed the track bar and the TF front sway bar disconnects.
Now I have the death wobble.
Here is some observations. When looking at the front of the jeep, it appears that one tire points forward and the other points a little off. When I put the level against the tires, passenger side is level, the drivers side is not; I have to bring the top of the level away from the tire to make it level. In the Project-JK write up on Do It Yourself Front Alignment, in the Re-centering Your Front Axle, it states that "make sure that the bubble in the level is centered", I check other vehicles and the tires are not level.
I have read where people have replaced the flex arms, but with only 2.5" I have read it is not necessary.
Why is it necessary? What causes the tire not to be level? Why do I have death wobble now and not before? Do I need to replace my tires?

I have an 09, with 3 inch lift and 34's. I had originally the 3 inch lift with the stock tires, 265's i think. I had the wobble bad after hitting a section of major potholes. I got an alignment at sears. didnt help. I replace my ball joints, didnt help. I put on a rough country dual stablilizer, HELPED, but didnt end it. Finally I went to the bigger tires and got an alignment as well at the Goodyear store. The alignment was WAY off. The sears gang didnt really do a very good job. I could say that it was a combination of these things but I really felt the difference after the Goodyear alignment. I havent had the wobble since the alignment there.
I would suggest that you pull the bolts on the track bar. Take a good look at the mount holes for it. Put your bolts in the mounts without the track bar and see if the have much wiggle. Look at the track bar itself and see if you can see thread imprints in the bushing sleeves. If it has very defined thread marks than it is probably where the issue is. I fixed my by drilling out the mounts and track bar to 5/8 and using a grade 8 flange bolt and flange nut. That was how I fixed my issue. Yours might be different. I also think that mine was amplified by not having enough caster, don't have adjustable control arms. My reasoning for this is kind of the shopping cart wiggle effect. Not sure just my opinion.
I almost got death wobble several times, luckily I knew about the problem and slowed way down before it could go full on. My jeep is completely stock. I checked my trackbar mounts and it turned out that my holes were starting to oval, which is the number one reason for death wobble. I took it to a local 4x4 shop and had them weld on some grade 8 heavy duty washers and that fixed it for good. If you got full blown death wobble, especially more than once, you probably damaged your balljoints and steering stabilizer as well. These can cause shimmies but not full on death wobble.
