I understand where you're coming from. This problem occurs on every forum I'm on too, be it Home Theater, shooting, or Jeeps. I apologize for cluttering up your feed.

So based on some PM's and reading TheDirtMan's excellent thread on the subject I've got it narrowed down to a couple options.

TeraFlex 2.5" Coil Lift w/ Rancho RS9000XL Shocks $849.95

Teraflex 2.5" Front and Rear Springs
Teraflex Axel Side Track Bar Bracket
Teraflex Extended Swaybar Links
Teraflex Bump Stop Extensions
Teraflex Brake Line Extensions
Rancho RS999329/RS999330 Shocks (9.62" Travel)

Rock Krawler JK 2.5 Stock Mod System Kit - RKJK25SM-KIT $879.95

Rock Krawler 2.5" Long Travel Progressive Rate Front Springs
Rock Krawler 2.5" Long Travel Linear Rate Rear Springs
Rock Krawler Double Adjustable Front Track Bar
Rock Krawler Adjustable Sway Bar Disconnects
Rock Krawler Rear Track Bar Relocation Bracket
Bilstein JK 07-15, Front 5100 Series Gas Shock, 3.5" (11.15" Travel)
Bilstein JK 07-15, Rear 5100 Series Gas Shock, 2" (10.99" Travel)
Teraflex Bump Stop Extensions
Teraflex Rear Bump Stops (2.25")
Teraflex Front-Lower Spring Retention Clips
Teraflex Rear Spring Retention Clips
Synergy Rear Coil Correction Wedges

AEV JK Dualsport XT Suspension 2.5" $959.00

AEV Front and Rear 2.5" Springs
Bilstein 5100 AEV Custom Shocks
AEV Bump-stop Spacers
AEV Rear Track Bar
AEV Rear Track Bar Bracket
AEV Brake Line Extensions
AEV Front Stabilizer End Link Relocation Brackets

The DirtMan's Setup $1111

JKS ACOS Front's $280
JKS ACOS Rears's $375
JKS Rear Trackbar Bracket $113
Teraflex Adjustable Swaybar Links $85
Teraflex Adjustable Front Trackbar $256
Teraflex Shock Extension Brackets $32

The Teraflex kit looks good for it's adjustable stiffness shocks. While not as long travel as the Bilsteins I feel I'd benifit more from the adjustability depending on conditions than I would from the extra 2" of travel.

The Rock Krawler kit appears the most "complete." I like the coil correction wedges and everything I've read about Rock Krawler seems to indicate they make excellent suspension components that are nearly indestructable. This also appears to have one of the longest travel suspensions along with a full set of Teraflex bump stops to keep from rubbing with factory fenders.

The AEV kit is AEV. Everyone pretty much knows their stuff by now and their coils seem to be built to handle heavier loads than most which will be a conern when I add front and rear bumpers. Their kit seems pretty straight forward but no where near as comprehensive as the Rock Krawler kit.

The DirtMan's Setup definatly appears the most adjustable and most likely to retain the factory ride and handling. I like the ACOS systems ability to adjust height depending on need which is great as you start to weigh down with armor. I'd definatly need to have a shop do all the calibration which adds another couple hundred to the cost of the kit.

I know I'll get an alignment no matter what lift I put on, that's just common sense. I'm thinking the Rock Krawler kit from Northridge is probably the best "turn key" solution to my needs. I wonder how the ride differs between the Bilsteins and the Ranchos.

If you have a need to do a lot of flexing I would go with rock krawler and add parts if needed in the future. If you not doing a lot of flexing AEV is definitely the way to go. I'm running their 2.5" kit with heavy bumpers and skid and you would never know it. I would highly recommend adding their drop brackets as it will greatly improve your steering. Let me know if you want a picture or two to see how it would look.

You are not getting adjustable arms. Caster and camber can not be changed unless you add components, so all they will do is center the steering wheel (which the lift installer should have already done...), if you get one with adj trackbars they can center the axles (which the lift installer should have already done...) and check the Toe (which didn't change with the lift, so if was ok going in, it's still ok). Find a shop that does free/cheap checks and just get the printout, then decide if it's worth spending money on.

And you can find a DIY Alignment how-to up in the writeups area. (there is an index stuck to the top, links are probably still broke so just scroll down)

Well I was planning on installing it myself like I did with my last JK. I'm taking it you think it would be worth it to take it to a shop afterwards?

I think he meant to take it to a shop if you would like to see the print out they give you afterwards. Other wise, you should have done everything they would do anyways while installing the lift: center steering wheel, recenter axle using adjustable track bar, and like he said the toe won't change because of the lift so you're good to go.

i just spec'd/installed a poor mans kit on my new to me 09 JK X 6-sp soft top. parts were 18/58 springs, rubi shocks, geo brackets, brake line drop brackets, front bump stops, rear end links. gained 1 1/8 rear, 2in front. has just the slightest amount of rake to it. all in i have less then $500 into the lift. drives perfect, no vibrations. pretty good bang for the buck.

Which brackets did you use for geo correction? Most have a measurement guide and as a 2dr soft top owner, I just barely met the 5.5" clearance requirement with my 2.5" coils, I'd be surprised to see it work with stock coils without sacrificing pinion angle.

Honestly, I ended up going flat fenders and a Teraflex leveling kit for now. I have serious garage door clearance issues and worry a 2.5" will make me to tall. As it stands I have to have a tight radius garage door as my garage is in our basement.
