Default Another post lift installation question?

Ok, I have another questions regarding the 3.25 RC lift I put on my JK. I am not having any problems but I was going through some of the installation writeups on this site and they all say to loosen your front track bar while the axle is lowered but not remove it and tighten it after the lift is completed and on the ground. The RC instructions say NOTHING about your front track bar at all on any of their instructions (2.5 BB, 2.5 Coil, 3.25 coil and spacer) so I didnt touch it when I did my install.

Should I have done this?

What are the consequences of not doing it?

I have driven about 800 miles post installation, any issues if I was supposed to do this?

If I need to to do this, Can this done now and is all I have to do jack up the Jeep and support under the frame so the so the tires are not touching, loossen track bar, lower jeep, retighten? Or do I have to remove the coils to do this?

If I was supposed to do this, I am getting really annoyed with RC's instructions.

It looks like they have you loosen up the rear track bar to allow the axle to drop a little more if you need clearance for the springs. I wouldn't worry about the front. It won't "bind" or anything if you didn't loosen up the track bar, it's made to pivot in the mount when the suspension is flexing. The only thing I might check is axle centering under the Jeep (unless you installed track bar relocation kits or adjustable track bars).

Hope this eases your mind!

What MaineRubi said.
I've installed lifts and unbolted the track bar, and also done it without unbolting the track bar. Doesn't make a difference. Requires some interesting engineering to get it lined up again if you do unbolt it... (AKA Ratchet Strap)

Just be sure that you tight the trac bar when the Jeep is on the ground, or you will have death wobble !

Yeah, I had to do that on the rear to get it line back up, I installed the rear relocation bracket. Thanks guys, I feel much better. I just wanted to make sure I did everything right, dont want any problems down the road.

I cannot remember if I tightend the rear track bar when it was jacked up or on the ground. Do you have to tighten rear tract bar on the ground as well?

Ok, so i need to loosen my track bar bolts and control arm bolts, shake and retorque.

Do I need to loosen both where the track bar attaches at axle and frame?

How much should I loosen them?

Have I done damage already?
