Another Stupid TPMS Question
Ok so from the searching I have concluded that... 1. the federal government has to many mandates / rules and 2. You cant disable your TPMS system.
My question is has anyone tricked the system in any ways, for example, does the system monitor for 5 sensors or just a low signal, due to it having no indicator of which tire, I would assume it just looks for a sensor to show low?
Also I have heard you can use the AEV ProCal reprogramers to change the settings and turn it off, is that true?
Last, have you ever seen / heard of a sensor delete (like the O2 sensor deletes) that you can wire up to get it to show clear...
Im not to worried about just letting the light stay on and the startup beeps, im more or less just asking!
Thanks

I know for a fact that I can leave my spare at home and not trigger the light. I have heard that some people have removed the sensors and put them in a closed cylinder under pressure and that works. I myself just got the procal as I changed tire size so I needed to recalibrate anyway.
Im thinking... As long as there is one sensor within range, say the spare tire, than the system will show clear... Basicly do you think i could get away with just installing one sensor in the spare and not all 5 wheels and tires...

The computer would assume the other 4 sensors died.
Buy a procal and set your TPS to 0 psi, or take all the sensors, pop them into a 12 inch PVC pipe with two endcaps and a valve stem, pressurize the pipe to 32 psi, and throw it in your trunk. I think the procal is just over $100, and the PVC will probably cost you $20. But you have to keep it with your jeep.
