Another TIRE question...
Although it will never go off road and is mainly driven around town, regearing will definitely happen, just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to damage/destroy anything if I didn't do it right away. I only drive it 1-2 a week, if that, and am basically doing bigger tires for cosmetics, so regearing isn't at the top of my list.
Friend of mine manages to dd his 2010 manual with 37" pit bull rockers and 3.21's, and is no mall crawler. I'm sure you'll be at least for now.
You won't find a definitive answer to what's tolerable because that's very opinionated. I've heard people say a 3.6L and 3.21's stock is a total pig to drive
lol mine screeched in 2nd when it was stock lol

With the engine lugging trying to turn the bigger tires, it will add a little more stress. If it was new and still under warranty, it may give the dealership an excuse to deny a claim on the engine/transmission (whether or not the damage could actually be traced back to the bigger tires), but you shouldn't have any problems just driving around town for a few months or a year until the new gears go in.
Ok, made a jeep owners profile with my vin, but I'm not finding an actual break down of my vehicle. I see an option list of what is standard, but not sure if that pertains to my vehicle. If so, it says I have 4:10, Dana 44. The vehicle is a unlimited x, auto. Does this sound right?
Sounds right to me.That's what we have. Most tire sizes are not true to size, example KM2's 35's measure small like about 34.5 I built our rig to run 36's so with the 4.88's we have i can run either a 35 or up to 37's without much change to rpm range.
