Default Another tire size thread

I’ve been reading the forums for months, researching tires and waiting until we could afford some. We bought a 2011 Unlimited Sport in November. We were going to get the Rubi but couldn’t get one with ½ doors. Anyway, now we’re ready to get rid of the cheesy stock wheels. I bought some Rubi take offs and I want to get some Wrangler Duratracs for them. My first question is what size (without a lift). Here’s what I’ve found:

Stock Sahara (255/70-18) has 7-inch sidewall, 32.1-inch diameter
Stock Rubicon (255/75-17) has 7.5-inch sidewall, 32.1-inch diameter
Stock Sport (225/75-16) has 6.6-inch sidewall, 29.3-inch diameter
Duratrac (245/70-17) has 6.8 sidewall, 30.5 diameter
Duratrac (245/75-17) has 7.2 sidewall, 31.5 diameter
Duratrac (265/70-17) has 7.3 sidewall, 31.6 diameter

I’m looking for advice/recommendations and have a couple questions for the experts:
-I’ve read that the dealer can recalibrate the speedometer, but is it also necessary to recalibrate the ABS and stability?
-Will getting a non-stock size tire affect the warranty?

Forgot to mention, if it makes any difference, we have the 6 speed manual.

I thought I was going up in size, from 16" wheels to 17", from 29" diameter tires to 31 or 32.

Honestly, and inch is not going to affect you in the least. Two will be very very very slightly noticeable, if at all.
I'd just say screw it and put 35s on.

You can get them to recalibrate your settings but I probably wouldn't worry about it unless your going to 33's or 35's.. Even 33's I probably wouldn't. As for voiding the warranty it depends on dealership. When I put my aftermarket tires and rims on, the only thing my service guy was mad about, is that I didn't go through him cause he could of got me a better deal. The dealership put them on and no warranty issues after...

I think he just bought some rubi wheels, not tires. I read it the same way as you at first.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, we're going from the 16" stock Sport wheels to 17" Rubicon wheels. Any thoughts on which size Duratracs?

Duratrac (245/70-17) has 6.8 sidewall, 30.5 diameter
Duratrac (245/75-17) has 7.2 sidewall, 31.5 diameter
Duratrac (265/70-17) has 7.3 sidewall, 31.6 diameter

Might as well get a 4" EVO full flex lift and put 40x14.50's on there You're gonna want them later anyway. th 40s will give you great clearance
