Default Another Tire Thread

I know there have been many threads on tire sizing, but I am really on the fence on my 2012 build. I had a HD OME lift and 35s on my 08 but am thinking about a lower center of gravity build that is still capable on the trail. If possible I would like to go with no lift if I can get 34s without one. So my first question is what mud terrain tires have a 34? Second question is do I go 17 or 18" rims? Looks like there are a few more options at the 34 size with 18s, anyone running over 17" wheels have issues on the trail with less sidewall?

I have seen Toyo 285/75R17s (34 high), Nitto Trail Grappler 295/70R17s (33.3 high) and Nitto Trail Grapplers 295/70R18s (34 high) - Have I missed any great options?

I am planning to run flat flares without a lift if I can get the 34s under my Rubi without rubbing on the trail.

Thoughts?
