another tire thread...sorry
So the lift shoudl be here next week and me and wife are looking at the tires we wanna run. will be looing into getting 35x1250r17. This is her daily driver to work, which is 7 miles one way, we have looked together and both like four different tires.
we do go off roading in the hill country so mostly slow rock crawling.

I like the Toyos, but they are expensive and heavy.
I have not heard anything bad about the MT MTZ, and they supposedly run true to size, but also pricey.
I have KM2's and like them on every thing I have run them on except hard snow and ice. They also tend to run a little smaller than marked when mounted.
I am not sure if the GY MT/R K have worked out their cupping issues they were having when the tire first came out.
Having said all that.......if money was no object........I would be giving Toyo my business this time around.

i got the km2's but if i had to do it again since my jk is my dd and i don't off road to much.
i'd run a 37" AT made my bfg
it's only a 1/2 lb heavier then the 35 km2 and a little bit taller. about an inch.

I really wanted the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T only hear great things about them and they look amazing...... Only thing they are way more Expensive for us to get here in Canada..... Heard they're priced ok for living in the States.... Don't know..... Check it out...... What about the Cooper STT's?? Hear they are priced right.

I have the trail grappler mt and love them. They're a little heavy and after 4 months I took it off the spare because my tailgate couldn't handle it. Otherwise, quiet and great both on and off. I drive 14 miles one way in denver traffic and no complaints here... little pricey but our local big o was running a sale and I bought 4 and got the 5th free. Just shop around.

If you are going rock crawling, I would not get an all terrain. I would go with a more agressive tread. You get a lot of tire spin on rocks with ATs.
Nitto Mud Grappler is a good choice - Nitto is made by Toyo I believe.
Cooper STTs can chunk on rocks.

for a daily drive imo there is not a better tire than a bfg km2 if you want to wheel and run the road. i have ran all of the tires up there but the new goodyear mt. i didn't like the pitbulls i bought either. so they only got about 3k miles before i replaced them with km2's. you pay more for bfg's you get less height but it rides great, pretty quiet and preforms off road very well. they also will go 40k or more if you rotate them. nothing does great on ice and i think they are great in the snow.
pay more get less and be happy that should be there slogan. my 35's were 33.2 tall and my new 38's are 36.25 tall. my second choice would be the toyos but they are just as heavy as the pitbulls and tire weight is worse than tire height. i lost 14 pounds a tire with a swap from pitbull 37x12.50's to km2 38's that are a 14.50 wide not a 12.50. i noticed a big difference in power and milage and gained a 1/4 inch in height and a inch in width. other than height they do have a week sidewall. great for flex but you can tear them open offroading. good luck with your choice
