Default ANOTHER wheel fitment thread!

I searched and search but could not find the answer I was Looking for (and it seems like most of the posts are from 2007). Is it possible to run 15's on a 2010 Rubi Unlimited? I have seen alot of X's and Sahara's running them with minor issues. Are the calipers larger on a Rubi with the D44? I love the look of 35's on 15" wheels. Want flat black wheels, anyone have any suggestions as to what to get? Should I go steel or alloy?

Default wheels

dont know about the 2010 rubis but on everything else i believe 4 inch backspacing solves your problem. i just ordered 5 cragar soft 8's that also come in 15". cheapest rim out there and looks awesome to me

some fitment issues will arise from the caliper clearance. Most of the time you can grind a little material off of the caliper and get it to run. That's just what i have read. I don't have 15's YET. But to answer your question, Yes, you can run 15's on a 2010 rubicon.

The only place in town to buy tires is telling me that running 15's is not possible. They say that there are only a few 15" 5 on 5 wheels available. They are telling me that I can run adapters or spacers to open up options. All I want is a 15" flat black steel wheel that I can run 35's on. I might go to 37's in the future, would I be better off going with 16's?

As noted above, Cragar Soft 8's would be the least expensive steel wheel you're going to find.

Another option would be to contact Discount Tire Direct (site sponsor). They have posted several 15" options recently that they checked for fitment. Here is one...

The problem with caliper clearance comes from the fact that steel wheels with holes in them like the soft 8's are punched not cut. When they punch the steel it leaves a little protruding edge on the backside that rubs the calipers. Depending on the type of steel and the type of punch the company uses it can change the amount that the edge sticks out.

That is why alloys fit 99% of the time. They are molded not punched. Also the fitment of steel will vary from JK to JK as chrysler has a weird tolerance on the casting of calipers.

There are tons of 15" 5on 5 wheels out there, your tire guy is just trying to tell you something that will sell his products. Procomp has lots of 15" 5 on 5 wheels, so does cragar, so does MB wheels ect ect.

Are there any issues with running wheel adapters to go to a 4.5 bolt pattern?
