Default extending breathing tubes

Interested in a little more explanation of extending breathing tubes on all the necessary parts if adding a snorkel. Any threads or write ups about that?

The search string and search feature yielded me zero results.

There are cheaper alternatives to the AEV snorkel, there is a chinese knock-off that uses AEVs installation instructions...HOWEVER,

I believe you get what you pay for. I have zero regrets on my AEV snorkel.

Ive read many times on here that people wish they went with the safari snorkel and not the "slug" on their hood.

Me personlly-- i'm wanting to design a snorkel that goes into the cab(thus also colder air getting into the engine) Specter has a set up for this for the TJ. In a perfect world, i would then have a simple tube attachment that i would add to the cab inlet, that would go up higher. Not like a snorkle is actually needed in the middle of Jan. Not doing any water crossing anytime soon.

Default Professional Installation

Has anyone actually had this professionally installed? Cost?

I know... our culture is "DIY", but for this job, I don't have the tools or a "garage" or the nerve to cut my hood myself.

I contacted the AEV place in MI, haven't heard back from them yet on the cost.

The only way I could see regretting the (AEV) snorkel, would be if you end up getting a RIPP SC.. and then have to replace your hood, but if you drop 5K what another 700, right?

No regrets what so ever other than the fact that I had to cut the stock hood. Measure twice, maybe a couple more times and cut once! What I like about the AEV Snorkel is that its extremely functional with an aggressive look that draws a lot of attention. Just installed some Bushwacker Flat Fenders and had no problem with the snorkel being in the way.

The Gen 2 Ripp would use the AEV snorkel. The 1st Gen used the River Raider.

I followed 3 other rigs through this hole...but I caught a rut and it pulled me hard into a deep little hole and I had a good pucker factor.

MPG gain/loss seems to be based on driver's foot weight.
Thanks for asking this Magnum, I was wondering the same thing...

to extend your breathers, find the ends get a male to male connector, attach the end of the old line to the beginning of the new line and run it to the top.

no regrets on the snorkel. I screwed up the cut, and there is a nice dimple on my hood. Oh well no biggie, well worth it in my mind.
