Anybody here have adjustable lower control arms set at different lengths?
Anybody here have adjustable lower control arms set at different lengths?
We just finished installing the long travel OME kit from David at Northridge with adjustable lower control arms and stock uppers.
The angle finder I bought from Lowes reads 5.5 degrees on drivers and passengers side, however, the lower control arm on the drivers side is 23” center to center and the passenger side is 22.5” center to center?
My 2009 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon is new and I haven’t wheeled it yet so I don’t think I have a bent axle. It drives great with no pull. What should I do?
Are different control arm lengths common for the JK?
Should I have them both set at the same length?
Thanks-
Joel

Teraflex is recommending a smaller center to center on the driver side then the passenger side..(Distance depends on amount of lift and JK model you have..)
This makes the caster on the driver side a bit less, hence you will have a compensation for the slight RH pull one can experience on our roads..
My personal opinion, get both sides dialed into the same caster...(have a professional alignment check done to assure equal setting of both caster and toe in) and use this as a base line for further fine tuning..(each time you adjust, have the alignment checked...)

Teraflex reccomends setting the lowers at different lengths as well...but when I set them to their recommendations I experienced less than optimal handling....put them at the same length and I'm handling great, it's possible I could have something bent up there cause I've jumped the front end already and wheeled a bit
.... However...if your handling fine as your set then why mess with a good thing right?
I origanlly installed mine with the same lengths, and had the slight right hand pull. lengthened the passenger side about 1/8 of an inch, only a few turns on the threads, and no more pull. tire wear is fine. These are Terraflex arms.
