Default Anybody own this?

I am looking for a bike carrier and was wondering if anybody has used this rack? I am concerned that it will not fit on my jk's tire. http://www.rei.com/product/723180

Pete,
Where are you in Montana?

If you are getting a bike rack. Get a Thule T2. I love mine.

I'm in missoula, well I am currently in chicago visiting family but can't wait to get back and do some riding next week. Where are u located? I was looking for something alittle cheaper then the t2. I am also planning on using thules hitch/spare tire ski/snowboard rack. I figured it would be cheaper and easier then putting in a rail system and such. I also like the idea of being able to access my trunk with out messing with the rack itself.

The T2 folds up and down and I have found it to be the safest most secure rack Ive had. It holds my mountain bike and my road bike. There is a thread about this in the ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING section.

Im in Kalispell. Are you going to haul a road or mountain bike?

Cool

I have been Mt Biking for years, and my favorite rack ever fits all Jeeps. Its the MOPAR one that mounts with a plate behind the spare, with a post coming through the center hole of the wheel. Then you mount the carrier to that. Its absolutely bullet proof! Super secure, they CANNOT steal your bikes without some major work. And you can use it to carry a shovel, axe, etc... when camping! Go on EBay and look. That where I got mine for about $80.

Wouldnt all that weight be hard on the hinges?

Make sure the rack will hold your bike frame. Some mountain bikes wont work on those racks.

I have that bike rack. The only problem that i have is that my stock rubicon tire is too big to for it to work properly, so i had to force it to stay up to hold the bike.

If you have smaller tires you should be ok though.
