Default Anyone with a custom exhaust on a CRD JKU?

Can't find any videos or pics of a CRD JKU with a custom turbo back exhaust! There must be someone in Europe or Australia. I am doing it soon and was hoping to find out how goes and sounds before hand!

You can unbolt the whole exhaust and you will notice no difference in sound... i'll post a videoclip when i get home to proof

I've seen a few that shortend the pipe to end before the rear axle to get more storage room in the back and throw a winch in that place where the stock muffler sits.

I made a custom dynomax system. Did a lot of research and found that all the cat back systems are the stock OD 2.75". With that said, ordered the same muffler that is used with the dynomax rock crawler system, removed the factory muffler, made some cuts, welded in the muffler and a tip i picked up from the local parts store. Saved a lot of cash and man this thing works amazing, sounds amazing and the clearance Gained is phenomenal.

I have a 2 door but same deal. Also, pick up a rattle can of high temp black paint and paint the rusty factory exhaust tubing. Looks great afterwards!

Thanks! Took all of 4 hours said and done. Now I started from scratch as well and only saw one other person who did the same, but they used clamps and had a little different set up. Said and done cost about $125. I've also crawled with it since and not a scratch on the muffler(I do have a evap skid that protects it though) and the clearance in the rear is great. My factory muffler was crushed like a can from sitting on rocks. Good luck!

First off remove the rear muffler. it gives a faster spool up of the turbo and cuts a bit of the lag. second, get some new intercooler pipes. the stock ones baloon up when pressurised creating more lag and will pop soon. 3rd, if your CRD is pre my10 then there is no particlate filter after the turbo, just a narrowing of the pipe (the dump pipe) and getting a custom one made will get the gasses flowing through this, the only bottleneck in the system. Any good import tuner workshop can make it for you.

Thanks for the responses!

I am aware of removing the rear muffler which I think does nothing that noticeable with power and sound, so I put it back until further notice.

I am thinking of removing cat altogether or having a very very high flow one, there is no legislation in Australia that says a diesel needs a cat, only a petrol, according to a tuner shop near me in Sydney?! And there are no sensors or particle filters that I can see anywhere which is great!

And then adding a high flow muffler at rear! Also curious if it affects boost etc, sure it will!

Normally I would just jump in and do it but had so many issues with
Jeep I dot want to affect warranty.

Once thanks for pics and videos, really helpful keep them coming!

Oh and intercooler pipes are a great idea, guy at JEEP told me it's a matter of time before it fails!
