So we'll see how good they really are. I know their LED spots are awesome.

Very interesting - looking forward to your report too... Don't mean to de-rail anything, but here is another 7" drop in (not LED) that I found by accident tonight: 90mm Bi-Halogen High/Low Headlamp Kit for replacement of 7" Sealed Beam. - Susquehanna Motorsports

Default JW Speaker

OK, took the plunge, just purchased the JW Speaker headlights in chrome.
Spoke to the supplier, they assured me if i'm not happy, IE: (flicker) they would take them back.
Price per pair with standard harnesses, $694.44, free shipping.....

Installed my chrome Speaker LED bulbs, so far so good. no bucket trim needed. Flicker, Yes.
Interesting factoid, pointing my Iphone at the illuminated headlights with the engine running, and the flicker is profoundly captured on the screen of the smart phone. Turned the engine off, and within about 15 sec the flicker stopped.
Has anyone tried using the same load resistor as used for the tail lights instead of the flicker harness to fix this?

Your eyes/brain have what's called persistence of vision, and your iphone doesn't (for the most part). That's why a 24 fps movie film is tolerable to your eyes, otherwise you would go bonkers with that strobing (barely! 30 fps+ is better). That's the same reason your phone picks up the flicker and your eyes don't. You may be able to see the Pulse Width Modulated headlights blinking if you use the outer peripheral of your eyes, which are more sensitive to light. I think you would need some sort of capacitor circuit to even out the pulsing, not a resistor-only circuit.

Yes that's true, I did just that, because I'm aware of the periphal vision, and sure enough, from a distance away about 20 feet it's there in the peripheral. Still wondering if the load resistors would have any effect at all.
