Default Anyone have any experience with BDS??

Hey Guys,

Spoke with the guy at a local 4x4 shop who also has a JK and this lift. I was told for someone who isnt going to be doing any rock crawling this lift was pretty good and decently priced. They also said the track bar relocation mounts help with the whole DW issue.

Just wanted to get the forum's opinion and maybe see if anyone had any experience good or bad with this brand. Again I wont be doing any crawling but want something that is capable of handling decent trails.

Let me know what you guys think.

thanks

i had their rear trac bar and it seperated at the thread.. simply put the threads gave out and had to crawl out of rausch creek and get it welded. changed it out for the rockrawler one which is twice as beefy....ok auto sells alot of BDS. i have the bds front lower control arms and the rear uppers on for about two years and no problems so far. but if you compare the width and size difference the rockrawler ones win hands down and as funds allow i will be getting all rockrawler arms since i have their front n rear trac bars and HD tie-rod as well as their drag link and the flip kit as well....i think your better off with beefy than with wimpy..

Yeah, I'm kind of looking for the same info. Went to a local place today and they seem to install primarily BDS, however, they do work with other kits as well. They tried very hard to sway me towards this kit vs the AEV Nth degree premium kit- I suppose because of cost, but, I've never heard of this kit, and I'm more familiar with AEV's products. Any info helps!!

I have this exact kit on my jeep right now. I must say I am very pleased with it. I added the JKS front and rear adj trackbars. The lift was pretty simple to install and have had 0 problems with it what so ever. I take it 4 wheeling at Rausch Creek all the time and its excellent. Just my .02
Good luck with your decision.

You'll definitely get people that love their bds kits and I wasn't bashing bds I was just pointing out the difference between rockrawlers beefy components and theirs. Don't limit your decision. Go out to jeeps shows and check other jeeps out in parking lots and look underneath them and see what their using and take note of the components to see quality of materials and size and overall beefiness and see what's rusting and what's not cause living on the east coast has it's disadvantages as far as road salt. Take your time in making a decision cause your the one that has to live with the ride. Good luck ! By the way....you missed the all breeds jeep show sponsored by quadratec in York Pennsylvania and a great opportunity to meet some manufacturers of lift and see the stuff their making for jeeps. This coming weekend is another one out in Ohio but that a long haul.

Thanks guys! I guess Ill do a little more research before I make a choice .The guy who runs the shop I went to has it on his sahara unlimited and also ran it on his 2 door JK and said he's been pretty happy with it.

As I mentioned before I wont be doing any rock crawling or anything crazy as this is my daily driver and cant afford to beat the crap out of it but I do want to be able to take it on some decent trails so im looking for a good functional lift that will also fit my needs and not be overkill.
