Default Anyone have this problem with BDS Shocks

Just like the title says. 7k miles on the lift and shocks. I dont wheel that much and if I do, its very light. I havent been able to find any issues regarding construction of the 9500 BDS Shock. Ive was also told that BDS discontinued this shock, so much for the limited lifetime warranty.

Also, has anyone had any issues with the TF rear links rusting with the 4" lift?

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions

Just send me a PM with your name/address and I'll replace those links for you. If you look closely at the BDS warranty, they do not cover shocks, they are a wear item. TeraFlex shocks have a lifetime warranty on them.

Default Thanks for the quick response TF

Thanks and I will PM you shortly.

As far as the BDS warranty states, "BDS Suspension Co. warrants to the original retail purchaser that its shock and stabilizer cylinders are free from defects in material and workmanship for so long as they own the vehicle" - I would agree with the wear issue if they were abused and/or were old (mine are less than a year and 7K miles on them) BUT i dont wheel and they are not old enough to justify breakage. Its seems as though the weld didnt hold on the one side of the hoop. But my local 4x shop is having a hard time getting replacements on a shock that are discontinued. Ill keep trying

Thanks again

Just call them up. They are a great company with great products and have solid customer service. I run the same lift/shocks you have and never had an issue with rust or breakage. And I have beaten the crap out it. Although, I live in the south so not much rust here!

Most companies will replace with comparable model if something has become discontinued or at least credit you the value of the old model toward purchase of new equipment. Give them a call to find out what their policy is....they are a great company to deal with.

Thanks guys for the input... BDS is replacing the shock, sending me 3 eyelets just in case (since i think you can change them out) and letting me keep the existing shock. Maynot be the best solution but its better than replacing with all new stuff.

So far so good in my experience with BDS. each time I've called they direct me to the closest auth shop and fix with no questions. Never asked if I'm the original owner which I am or receipt.

Just a follow up:

BDS sent a new shock and 3 new eyelets for the existing shock. I guess ill have an extra - just in case of future issues. Since these are disco'd, thats all they would do for the time being. I guess we will see how that works out.

As far as the Teraflex rear links, thaey also showed up and are painted this time - Thanks Teraflex for making this right.
