Anyone hear of a chip that plugs into the engine compartment area and gives the jk like 60 more hp, more torque and increased gas mileage? It's like $69 and sounds too Damn good to be true.

According to the site, all it does is make the PCM think the engine is engine is getting colder air than it really is. Now, typically, that would mean the PCM has the injectors deliver more fuel. The JK 3.8L is already rich, stock. In fact, the Superchips Flashpaq pulls fuel OUT to make more power. However, if the PCM advances the spark in a cold air situation, that could be beneficial. I'm pretty sure that's the biggest bang in the Superchips tune.

Now, realize that $69 is a lot to pay for a resistor. Because that's all it needs to be.

Ya don't say?

There are several threads on this already. It's just a cheap resistor with a pretty plastic case, so it is actually extremely expensive for what you get. No one has taken the initiative to buy and install one (yet), care to volunteer? I'd like to read all about the performance 'gains' and the damage it causes.

Doh! Interesting feedback. Maybe I'll buy one a week before I trade my 07 x for a 2012 rubi and see what happens.
